Wedding: Lehann and Monja {L’Aquila}

Wedding: Lehann and Monja {L’Aquila}

Oh my, was I in for a massive surprise! L’Aquila is such a gorgeous venue and you can imagine how special the place looked for the owner’s son. Lehann and Monja are both beautiful people, both inside and out so we were warmly welcomed. Lehann Fourie is actually one of our own home grown Olympic athletes that competed in the 2012 Summer Olympics, so it was refreshing to meet such a humble guy. I’d say down to earth but at his height, the ground must be very far away! Thanks to the Fouries and Goosens for the warm reception, overflowing love and steadfast faith. I could see the love and respect between them was real and made the moments so special. My wish for Lehann and Monja would be that they experience and have that in their marriage. Wedding: Adrian and Chanelle {Kleinkaap Boutique Hotel}

Once again my breath was blown away with how beautiful Kleinkaap is, it’s just filled with a lot of gorgeous details that makes a photographer’s heart happy! Adrian and Chanelle are such a fun couple – something that could be seen from their choice of cake topper. I simply love the personalised bride and groom with little XBox controls in their hands. A storm was brewing overhead and with the ceremony set to be held under the trees in the garden, we were all stressed whether the weather would hold. Thankfully it only started raining as the cocktail hour started, perfect timing! Main photographer: Isabel Jordaan   Venue: Kleinkaap Boutique...

Wedding: Eugene and Camilla {African Pride Irene Country Lodge}

I simply love being a second shooter at a wedding – it means that I get to work with an awesome photographer and get those candid shots that I liked. I also get to make the groom and groomsmen look cool and I think I succeeded with Eugene and Camilla’s wedding! Here is just a few of my favourite shots. Wedding: Ian and Nicole – Red Ivory Lodge

Wedding: Ian and Nicole – Red Ivory Lodge

I recently had the privilege to be Chris Munton’s assistant (that did a bit of second shooting) – what an experience! He has such a wealth of experience that he’s built up over 13 years in the industry and he’s still going strong. Now, Ian and Nicole are such a gorgeous couple with a quirky sense of humour, we were in stitches all through the couple shoot. Needless to say, I think we’re all grateful that the videographer didn’t have the sound on. Red Ivory is an amazing venue. Not only does it have a breathtaking view, but they can definitely boast with staff members that do their utmost best to make the day special for all their guests. The couple could really count themselves very lucky – I could see through my lens two people that’s loved deeply by their friends and...
A new year and a bit about our wedding

A new year and a bit about our wedding <3

A New Year, a new love and a new life – thinking back on the year gone by, is a bit of a shock really. A lot has changed since I last updated. It doesn’t really seem like I’m the same person, but I am, inside at least. My story since then was most definitely a whirlwind romance filled with moving house, a stunning new family and an old-new city to get used to. So if you think the myth of catching the bouquet and garter is untrue, think again! I met my new hubby on my cousin’s wedding in March last year – the only reason that he mustered the courage to talk to me is because I caught the bouquet (for the first time in my life!) and he caught the garter! His first words to me was: “I can’t dance!” and he tripped me up with those blue eyes of his! One of the biggest challenges of our new relationship was the distance – he lived in Pretoria and I was cosily settled in Somerset West. We made the decision that I would move up to Pretoria, as both our families were up here (except my mom and sister). And even quicker we decided to get married, with support from both our wonderful families! So 5 months and 1 day after we met, we got married and it was perfect in every way! We were surrounded by family and there was no lack in help. My hubby’s 4 aunts offered their help with the food, decor and venue (even including the cutlery, crockery and table flowers)...
Wedding: Stephan and Renalde

Wedding: Stephan and Renalde

What really struck me about this wedding is the absolute gem the venue was! Lalapanzi lodge is situated against the mountains behind Somerset West with an absolutely breathtaking view over the False bay area. With the smell of pine trees and the twittering of birds we set out to do the couple shoot and nature did the rest of the talking! Venue: Lalapanzi lodge Hair and makeup: Vicki van Wyk of Joie de Vie in Somerset West This is why I simply <3 the Winelands – a short walk through the trees and we found this young vineyard with the mountains as a backdrop! Feel the love! 🙂 The rings that bind 🙂 Just look at those trees and that stunning wooden lodge – perfect backdrop for our amazing couple! Striking and lasting table decorations – melts in perfectly with the natural setting. Guest enjoying the view! Cake looks good enough to eat! Nom...
