Inarie van Staden of Inarie Photography

My name is Inarie van Staden and I am a wedding photographer based in Cape Town, South Africa. Just a few years ago I was blessed with my own “happily ever after” when I married my amazing husband, Renier. He just brings out my silly side. Our love story started just a little over 5 years ago, but it’s still one of my favourite stories to tell! In 2016 we were blessed with a little ray of sunshine in the form of our son, Renier. He stole my heart the moment I saw him the first time and I simply love seeing him grow. In 2017 our little bonus surprise boy Niel, joined our tribe.

Our little family are completed by our two dogs (my “hounds of happiness”). It’s the most amazing feeling to have a dog greet you at the door when you’ve been away, whether it was 10 minutes or an hour … all just happiness!

I got into photography as a creative outlet and simply fell in love with weddings and telling the stories I see through my lens. So many moments happening right in front of my eyes!

Photography is very much a personal thing – that is why two different photographers looking at the same scene would capture different photos and even process it differently. We bring our while life experience into how we frame, compose and light an image.

However, the subject of the photo isn’t about us, it’s about the moments and what we choose to capture. I have developed my own personal style in the 6 years I’ve been doing weddings and I see the same patterns around me.

I love kids. I love the things they do at weddings and to capture their emotions as they sometimes experience what a wedding is all about for the first time.

Families and friends and how they interact is my other personal favourite. People reacting naturally while they’re interacting is the most beautiful thing and I love the sheer happiness you can see in some people’s faces as they share something as important as the couple’s wedding day.

Then of course there is the couple and the moments of love that you can see in their eyes. When they share and sneak a private moment or just look into each others’ eyes with love.

I would love to meet up with you to show you what drives me and a few of my favourite photos.
